In early August 2025 the operators of Rare Breed TV — a North Carolina based IPTV service that advertised about 28,000 live channels and 100,000 movies and series — signed a settlement with the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE). The service shut down permanently, the operators paid a financial settlement, and the original domain was later dropped and listed for sale.
What is Rare Breed TV?
Rare Breed TV was a subscription IPTV service run from Tarboro, North Carolina, sold through its own website and a network of resellers from roughly 2021 until 2025. It delivered live channels and an on-demand library to Fire TV Sticks, Android boxes, phones and smart TVs through a branded app and an Xtream Codes login, at about $15.99 a month or $79.99 a year. It is not to be confused with the farming television programme or the firearms company that share the “Rare Breed” name. Today the name also belongs to this website — an independent IPTV service launched in 2026, explained further down.
Why it is called the Rare Breed TV piracy shutdown
ACE is the anti-piracy coalition of the major film studios, broadcasters and streaming platforms. It treats any service that carries their channels without a licence as piracy, and when it reached the operators of Rare Breed TV they chose a settlement over a lawsuit: shut down for good, pay, cooperate. That is why every report on the closure — and most searches about it — call it a piracy shutdown. For subscribers the label changed nothing in practice; the servers going dark did.

Can I still use my old Rare Breed TV login?
No. The servers behind the old service were switched off as part of the settlement, so the Xtream Codes login, M3U link or MAC activation you bought back then cannot be renewed or reactivated anywhere. If a seller offers to “renew” a Rare Breed TV subscription, they are selling something else under that name.
